<aside> π Aging is the leading cause of death in humans. At the same time, there are organisms that practically do not age, such as the hydra, some types of βimmortalβ jellyfish or the naked mole rat, and some model animals managed to significantly extend their lives. In the case of mice, more than one and a half times, and in the case of roundworms, more than ten times. Based on this, there is hope that human aging can be slowed down, and maybe even stopped or rolled back. But how to do that?
Unfortunately, the study of aging is underfunded. To increase the chances of solving the problem of aging during our lifetime, it is necessary to focus efforts on the most promising areas of life extension, as well as to involve as many people as possible in solving this problem.
To resolve these issues, we decided to organize a debate about how to defeat aging, and what research to conduct first. We hope that the ideas defended during the debate will be implemented, and that viewers will want to learn more about modern biological science and take part in its development.
